Olper's vs Nestlé Milkpak: which packaged milk is best in Pakistan?
The two giants of Pakistani packaged milk
Olper's (Engro Foods) and Nestlé Milkpak dominate Pakistan's UHT milk shelves. Both are 100% pure dairy, both are TetraPak, both have ~3.5% fat. So which one belongs in your fridge?
Head-to-head specs (1 litre, full cream)
| Metric | Olper's | Nestlé Milkpak |
|---|---|---|
| Fat | 3.5% | 3.5% |
| Protein per 100 ml | 3.2 g | 3.1 g |
| Karachi price (delivery.pk) | Rs 320 | Rs 330 |
| Shelf life unopened | 4 months | 3 months |
| Pack sizes | 250 ml, 1 L, 1.5 L | 250 ml, 1 L |
How they actually taste
- Olper's is creamier, slightly sweeter, and froths better — that's why most Karachi cafes use it for cappuccinos.
- Milkpak is cleaner and more neutral. Better when you want the milk to disappear into the dish (kheer, custard, white sauce).
What to use each for
| Use case | Winner |
|---|---|
| Doodh patti chai | Olper's (richer body) |
| Kheer / firni | Milkpak (cleaner taste) |
| Cornflakes / cereal | Either |
| Milkshakes | Olper's (thicker) |
| Baby formula prep | Always use infant formula, not UHT |
| Cooking white sauces | Milkpak |
Price per litre comparison
Both are within Rs 10 of each other across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The cheaper option day-to-day is usually whichever is on promo — delivery.pk runs alternating deals most weeks. Worth setting up the dairy & bakery aisle as a favourite.
Verdict
For the average Pakistani household that drinks 5–6 litres of milk a week (mostly chai), Olper's full cream is the safer pick. If you do a lot of dessert cooking, keep a pack of Milkpak alongside it.
Both are halal, both are sourced from Punjab dairy farms, and both are delivered in 30 minutes through delivery.pk.
