Pepsi vs Coke vs Next Cola vs Pakola — 2026 price comparison in Pakistan

A head-to-head price comparison of Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Next Cola and Pakola across 250ml, 345ml can, 500ml, 1L, 1.5L and 2.25L bottles in Pakistan — with per-litre cost and best-value picks.

The four colas on every Pakistani fridge shelf

Walk into any kiryana in Faisalabad, Karachi or Lahore and you’ll see the same four bottles: **Pepsi**, **Coca-Cola**, **Next Cola**, and the local hero **Pakola**. They taste different, they market differently — but the real question most families ask on grocery night is simple: *which one is actually cheaper per litre?*

We priced all four across the standard SKUs sold in Pakistan in July 2026 and worked out cost per litre so you can stop guessing.

Retail price snapshot — July 2026

| Size | Pepsi | Coca-Cola | Next Cola | Pakola |
|—|—|—|—|—|
| 250 ml glass (returnable) | Rs 60 | Rs 60 | — | Rs 55 |
| 345 ml can | Rs 130 | Rs 130 | Rs 90 | Rs 110 |

| 2.25 L PET | Rs 380 | Rs 380 | Rs 260 | Rs 320 |

Prices are typical Faisalabad retail on delivery.pk — kiryana rates vary Rs 5–15 either way, and organised retail (Imtiaz, Al-Fatah) usually runs Rs 10–20 higher.

Cost per litre — the only number that matters

| Brand | 500 ml | 1.5 L | 2.25 L | Best value size |
|—|—|—|—|—|
| **Pepsi** | Rs 220/L | Rs 187/L | **Rs 169/L** | 2.25 L |
| **Coca-Cola** | Rs 220/L | Rs 187/L | **Rs 169/L** | 2.25 L |
| **Next Cola** | Rs 160/L | Rs 127/L | **Rs 116/L** | 2.25 L |
| **Pakola** | Rs 180/L | Rs 153/L | **Rs 142/L** | 2.25 L |

**Verdict on price alone:** Next Cola is ~31% cheaper per litre than Pepsi/Coke in the 2.25 L size. Pakola sits in the middle at ~16% cheaper than the global brands.

Brand-by-brand snapshot

Pepsi 🔵
The default for most Pakistani households — bottling by PepsiCo Pakistan out of Multan, Lahore and Karachi. Premium pricing, sweeter finish, and the widest can/glass availability. Pick if you want a familiar taste and don’t mind paying for it.

Coca-Cola 🔴
Same price as Pepsi to the rupee — Coke chases Pepsi’s SKU pricing bottle-for-bottle. Slightly less sweet, more citrusy finish. Coca-Cola Icecek runs the local bottling. Go here if you prefer a drier cola or you’re buying for guests.

Next Cola 🟢
Manufactured by Mehran Bottlers. **The cheapest mainstream cola in Pakistan.** Taste is a shade lighter and less carbonated than Pepsi/Coke — most people don’t notice in a mixed glass with ice. If your family gets through 4+ litres a week, switching to Next 2.25 L saves roughly **Rs 260/week** vs Pepsi.

Pakola 🟩
The 1950 Karachi original from Mehran Bottlers — technically a “vanilla cream soda”, not a cola, but it’s the reigning fridge staple in Sindh and increasingly in Punjab. Green colour, unmistakable sweeter-vanilla flavour, and priced ~18% below Pepsi. Pairs with **biryani**, **nihari** and **chai-time samosas** in a way Pepsi doesn’t.

Which one should you actually buy?

– **Budget-max family basket:** Next Cola 2.25 L × 2 = Rs 520 for 4.5 litres.
– **Guests coming over:** Coca-Cola or Pepsi 1.5 L × 3 = Rs 840 — the label matters at a dawat.
– **Sindhi household or biryani night:** Pakola 1.5 L — no substitute, ever.
– **Mixed household:** One 2.25 L Next Cola for daily use + one 1.5 L Pepsi/Coke for guests. Total Rs 540 vs Rs 840 for all-Pepsi.
